Description

Founded in 1906, the club features an original design by George Low, later significantly modified by James Braid. Nestled between dunes and heather, the course conveys a natural feel throughout, with some blind shots and numerous pot bunkers strategically and cautiously guarding the greens.

Signature Hole

The par-5 16th, known as "Gumbley's," is 529 yards long and plays almost always into the wind. Intimidating cross bunkers with old railroad woods crisscross the fairway and make approaching the green difficult.

The good, The Bad

An excellent option to combine with the best courses in Liverpool and the surrounding area.
In the shadow of its neighbor Royal Birkdale or nearby Formby, it flies under the radar but is worth knowing!
